The article deals with diverse types of weaving and rugs on the best examples of the collection of the Kazakh Decorative and Applied Art Center at the Kasteyev State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The spiritual world of the nation or the people has always been national; it bears the peculiar features of the people’s world perception and outlook. Carpet weaving is also an expression of the cultural and historical constant of the people as one of the types of decorative art. Carpet weaving has several parameters, including national, regional and mental, as well as genetic, coming from the ancient times. National culture is programmed for selfpreservation, assertion of its specificity and uniqueness. However, in the conditions of globalization it is subject to unification.
